The small resort at the mouth of the Qolora River has a beautiful beach with excellent swimming and fishing and can easily be described as one of the forgotten and yet most beautiful of the seaside hamlets.

A short walk leads to the enchanted pool of Nongqawuse, the prophetess who promised to the Xhosa tribe the destruction of the white man.

The wreck of the Jacaranda, which foundered on 18 September 1971 on the rocks off the coast, looks in such good condition that it seems almost ready to steam away.
